Syria Raises Damascus Cafe Blast Toll to Nine

Ynet published at 00:51 IDT, carrying Reuters, that Syria's Interior Ministry raised the Damascus cafe-bombing toll to nine killed and 20 wounded. AP also carried a nine-dead update, but with a 22-wounded headline; SANA's earlier official article said six killed and 22 injured, and Times of Israel/AFP first reported five killed and 16 wounded. The agreed facts are that an explosive device hit a cafe near the Palace of Justice, no group claimed responsibility, and Syrian forces opened an investigation. For Israel, instability in Damascus reinforces the need for firm intelligence and Golan-front readiness until Syria can reliably block jihadist and Iranian-backed threats.
