Six Arrested at Hermon as HaBashan Syria Crossings Persist

Six activists from HaBashan Pioneers were arrested after crossing the border in the Hermon area to the Syrian side, drawing another IDF response on a sensitive northern frontier. Forces that identified the incursion were dispatched and arrested the activists, while the military said repeated attempts by the group in recent months have forced soldiers away from defensive missions and harmed the operational effort. The movement argues civilian settlement would strengthen Israel's hold near the border, but security discipline comes first. Israel's presence on the Hermon protects the Golan and northern communities; unauthorized crossings can endanger civilians, complicate rules of engagement and distract troops facing Syria-based threats.
