Ben-Gvir New York Police-Summit Trip Off Amid Lawfare Push

The anti-Israel Hind Rajab Foundation claimed on July 4 that Itamar Ben Gvir's planned New York trip for the July 7-8 UN Chiefs of Police Summit was canceled because of legal complaints. Ben Gvir's office has not confirmed legal pressure as the cause. Ministry sources said no delegation would be sent despite initial plans, while his spokesperson, Israel's New York consulate and a UN official had earlier said he was not coming or not registered. Israel should protect officials from hostile lawfare while avoiding overseas distractions that hand adversaries a stage.
