ShoutOut Game Targets Online Antisemitism and Holocaust Distortion
Ynetnews published at 08:09 IDT that the Claims Conference and University of Duisburg-Essen researchers launched ShoutOut, a free digital learning tool that trains students to identify antisemitism, hate speech and Holocaust distortion on social media. UDE's June 26 release says the platform was presented with Claims Conference support, is available in English and German, and centers on an about 15-minute online game plus classroom materials and a virtual review screen. It was developed by Monika Hubscher, Sophie Schmalenberger and Nicolle Pfaff under the Social Media Literacy Against Antisemitism project. For Israel and world Jewry, teaching young people to recognize online Jew-hatred, including Israel-focused antisemitism, protects Jewish memory and strengthens democratic solidarity against the hatred that enabled the Shoah.
