Ayalon Warns US-Iran MoU Gives Tehran Leverage

In a July 4 103FM interview, Danny Ayalon, a former deputy foreign minister and Israeli ambassador to Washington, warned that the US-Iran MoU is giving Tehran room to set the agenda. Ayalon said the United States is releasing funds while not answering Iranian provocations, and argued that Iran separated the Strait of Hormuz file from the nuclear file to gain quiet. He also warned that Israel's standing in Congress and US public opinion has eroded, even though America remains Israel's indispensable ally. Israel should keep rebuilding bipartisan trust while insisting that any Iran diplomacy close nuclear, missile and proxy loopholes.
