Knesset Expected to Dissolve July 17 for October 27 Election
Israeli reporting on July 5 said the Knesset is now expected to dissolve on July 17, putting Israel on course for an October 27 national election, the latest date permitted by law. Knesset Legal Adviser Sagit Afik had recommended that date because it is 101 days before the legal election deadline, and an Ohana spokesperson said the current legal timetable points to October 27. The shift follows the coalition's Haredi agreement to keep advancing Torah-study, draft-enforcement and other bills before dissolution. Israel needs a clean campaign calendar that respects Torah communities, soldiers and every voter while preserving Knesset transparency.
