Zini Seeks Recheck of Kahanist Party Disqualification
Shin Bet chief David Zini asked Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara for time to reexamine intelligence that helped the Parties Registrar reject registration of Yisrael Yehudit Shlema Ve'eitana, a movement described in court papers and reporting as Kahanist. The Supreme Court must approve a registrar refusal and had set a Sunday hearing; prosecutors requested a delay so Zini can test whether the material remains valid and relevant. ACRI says the case is unusual because secret Shin Bet material is central to blocking a party. Israel's ballot should stay broad, but state institutions must not let a terror-linked ideology use elections as a legal shield.
