Young Road Deaths Hit Decade High on Israeli City Streets
New road-safety data show 32 young people ages 15-24 were killed in crashes on Israeli urban roads in 2025, up from 24 in 2024 and the worst result in a decade. The figures, attributed to an Or Yarok analysis of Central Bureau of Statistics data, say young people were one in five road-crash fatalities in Israel and that Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv led in young urban-road casualties. Or Yarok chief Yaniv Yaakov called for a national multi-year plan, better young-driver training and stronger enforcement near entertainment areas. Lowering this toll is basic national resilience for soldiers, families, students and workers who use Israel's roads every day.
