Bus Driver Killed Under Bus During Tire Change Near Gdera

Emergency teams declared a 46-year-old Jerusalem bus driver dead after a bus collapsed on him while he was changing a tire in the Nahal Sorek region near Gdera/Hafetz Haim. MDA medics said he was trapped under the vehicle, unconscious and without a pulse, and was pronounced dead after fire-and-rescue crews completed the extraction. Police opened an investigation, sent traffic examiners and Yavne-station investigators to the scene, and notified the Labor Ministry because the incident is being treated as a fatal work accident. Reports place the emergency calls around 19:40 and say investigators are examining why the heavy vehicle fell during the repair.
