Modi'in Illit Boy Killed by Bus on Rabbi Akiva Street

Israeli emergency teams in Modi'in Illit pronounced a young boy dead Thursday after he was hit by a bus on Rabbi Akiva Street in the Haredi city. Eyewitnesses reported he was crossing at a crosswalk; MDA teams found him with multi-system injuries and no signs of life. Senior MDA medics Yedidya Hachmon and Moshe Kuperman said his injuries left them no choice but to pronounce death, and police traffic examiners opened an investigation while the driver was detained. The tragedy deserves sober attention: Torah families need safe streets, careful driving around children and rapid municipal safety fixes.
