Iran Missiles Hit Ships in Strait of Hormuz
U.S. officials said Iran's military fired at least two missiles at commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz overnight, damaging two vessels but causing no reported casualties. UKMTO separately confirmed a tanker near Limah, Oman, was hit on its port side by an unknown projectile and caught fire, with no environmental impact reported. Reporting identified one vessel as Al Rekayyat, a Qatari LNG tanker, and said the engine room filled with smoke while the crew mustered safely. The strike came after indirect U.S.-Iran talks in Doha stalled, after Iran warned vessels to use its approved routes, and amid continuing fallout from the U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran.
