Three Hormuz Tankers Hit in Latest Shipping Attacks
British maritime authorities said three tankers were struck Tuesday in the Strait of Hormuz, including a third ship hit by a drone after two earlier attacks in the critical oil-shipping waterway. The reports said the third vessel sustained minor damage, no one was injured, and it continued on its route; an earlier tanker near Limah, Oman, caught fire after a port-side projectile hit. Iranian reports said the LNG tanker had ignored warnings but did not amount to an official claim of responsibility. The renewed attacks threatened traffic through a sea lane that carries about a fifth of the world's traded oil and gas after the latest U.S.-Iran war.
