US Poll Shows Israel Support Split by Party

AP-NORC reported a June 11-17 survey showing U.S. support for Israel split sharply by party, with 58% of Democrats saying Washington is too supportive of Israel and 60% of Republicans saying support is about right. The poll found 31% of U.S. adults and 30% of Jewish adults answered yes to a question asking whether Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, an accusation Israel and the U.S. government deny; 49% of Jewish adults answered no. The same topline found 79% of Jewish adults said Hamas's Oct. 7 attack was not justified and 69% said Hamas's refusal to disarm after the October 2025 ceasefire was not justified. The survey included 3,040 U.S. adults and a 1,022-person Jewish oversample.
