CENTCOM Conducts Additional Strikes on Iran After Trump Ankara Warning

U.S. Central Command formally announced Wednesday night at approximately 23:15 IDT that its forces have started conducting additional strikes against Iran to further degrade Tehran's ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the United States is holding Iran accountable for recent unjustified aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews freely navigating a vital international waterway. Iranian state media reported explosions at the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, on Qeshm Island and near Sirik along the southern coast. President Donald Trump had told reporters at the NATO summit in Ankara earlier Wednesday, we're going to hit them hard tonight, and said U.S. forces destroyed 28 Iranian boats in Tuesday's first-wave operation that hit more than 80 sites, targeting air defenses, coastal surveillance, anti-ship cruise missiles and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats.
