Iran Parliament Spokesman Vows Deadly Response If Trump Seizes Kharg Island
Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, posted a direct challenge to U.S. President Donald Trump on X on Wednesday, writing Come, we are waiting for you, and we promise that not a single American soldier will return alive. Rezaei was responding to Trump's Ankara NATO summit remarks that the U.S. had struck Kharg Island overnight and might take over the island, an eight square mile terminal off Iran's Bushehr coast that handles roughly ninety percent of Iranian crude oil exports. Trump told reporters he told planners not to touch the oil, because maybe we'll take over Kharg Island. The Iranian threat came as CENTCOM confirmed additional Wednesday strikes on Iran, as Bahrain and Kuwait sirens sounded over an IRGC retaliation claim, and as Israel placed the IDF on heightened readiness at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Kirya security consultation with Defense Minister Israel Katz.
