Survey Shows Unaffiliated U.S. Jews Less Attached to Israel
A new survey analysis of 1,022 Jewish adults in the United States found sharp differences between religiously affiliated and religiously unaffiliated Jews over Israel and Gaza. About 4 in 10 unaffiliated Jews said Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, while only about 2 in 10 said Israel's current operations are justified and 74% said they are not too or not at all emotionally attached to Israel. Religiously affiliated Jewish adults were more likely to identify as Zionists and to say supporting Israel is important to Jewish identity. Israel and the United States reject genocide allegations, and Israel says it fights Hamas under international law while confronting the terror group's use of human shields.
