U.S. Views of Israelis Turn More Negative in New Survey
A Pew Research Center survey released July 9 found U.S. views of the Israeli people have grown more negative, with 52% favorable and 42% unfavorable, down from 67% favorable and 25% unfavorable in 2022. Views of Palestinians held nearly steady at 50% favorable and 44% unfavorable, leaving the two peoples viewed almost evenly. The 12,574-adult survey was conducted May 4-17, before Hamas said it would dissolve its Gaza government. Pew also found majorities unfavorable toward the Israeli government, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, with Hamas still viewed unfavorably by 84% of Americans.
