UK Summons Iranian Envoy Over Zeraati Attack Finding
The UK Foreign Office summoned Iran's senior diplomat in London after the sentencing of two Romanian nationals for the 2024 stabbing of Iran International journalist Pouria Zeraati. GOV.UK said Ali Nasimfar was summoned by Middle East Minister Hamish Falconer after the judge concluded the attack was carried out in the interests of and on behalf of the Iranian state. Reports said Zeraati was stabbed outside his Wimbledon home and that the case fits a pattern of hostile Iranian intelligence activity on British soil. For Israel, the summons reinforces the same strategic warning: Tehran's regime exports intimidation against journalists and dissidents while threatening the Jewish state and Diaspora communities.
