Vaturi Says Lazimi Is Worse Than Hamas, Drawing Probe Demand
Likud MK and Knesset deputy speaker Nissim Vaturi said Thursday in a radio interview that Democrats MK Naama Lazimi could run for Hamas leadership in Gaza and, when hosts challenged the comparison to a murderous terror organization, said he saw no difference because those who harm Israel from within are worse. Lazimi demanded that Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara open a criminal investigation for incitement to violence, saying Netanyahu and his allies had marked a target on her back and were inviting the next political murder. The clash followed last week's Pindrus remark about shooting protesters' legs, keeping incitement, public-order enforcement and campaign restraint at the center of Israel's election season.
