Eisenkot Campaign Warns Authorities His Private Guards Are Unarmed

Gadi Eisenkot’s campaign field director warned Shin Bet chief David Zini, Police Commissioner Daniel Levy and other security officials that the Yashar chairman’s privately hired guards are unarmed. The letter said the party arranged the detail after several recent incidents and troubling publications, while noting it had not received permission to provide armed protection. Eisenkot lacks a state security detail because he does not currently hold government office. His campaign said public appearances announced in advance leave him increasingly exposed as Israel’s October election approaches, and the Shin Bet was reported to be reviewing the request.
