U.S. Launches More Iran Strikes to Protect Strait of Hormuz Shipping

U.S. Central Command said it began another round of strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. Eastern time Sunday, midnight in Israel, under President Donald Trump's direction. CENTCOM said the operation is intended to further degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels moving freely through the Strait of Hormuz and to hold Iranian forces accountable. Iranian reports soon described explosions in Sirik, Bandar Abbas and Qeshm, while Hebrew news alerts carried the U.S. announcement within minutes. CENTCOM did not immediately disclose targets, damage or casualties from the new wave.
