U.S. Strikes Qeshm Military Sites and IRGC Boats in New Hormuz Wave

U.S. forces carried out a fresh round of strikes Sunday evening against military targets on Iran's Qeshm Island and around the Strait of Hormuz. A U.S. official said the targets included missile systems, air defenses and small IRGC boats, after Iran claimed the strategic waterway was closed and expanded attacks against regional states hosting American forces. Iranian reporting initially said fewer than 12 projectiles hit military sites without casualties; a later report said one person was killed and two were wounded. The evening action followed an overnight U.S. operation that hit about 140 targets intended to reduce Iran's ability to threaten civilian shipping.
