Government Renames Route 443 'Derech HaLevi'im' for David Levy

Israel’s government approved naming the Route 443 segment from the Ben Shemen interchange to the Beitunia-Givat Ze’ev junction “Derech HaLevi’im in memory of Minister David Levy.” The name both commemorates the former deputy prime minister and foreign minister and reflects the area’s historic connection to the tribe of Levi, the kohanim and the Hasmonean family associated with Modi’in. The Transportation Ministry and Defense Ministry will update road signs, while the Cabinet Secretariat will publish the new name officially. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Transportation Minister Miri Regev said the decision honors Levy’s decades of public service, social advocacy and work for Israel’s periphery.
