Israel Wins One Gold and Four Silvers at International Physics Olympiad

Israel’s national physics team returned from Colombia with one gold medal and four silver medals at the 56th International Physics Olympiad. Ruth Kozlovsky, a 10th-grade student from Tel Aviv competing in her first international science Olympiad, won gold. Noam Fleisig, Ahia Kellner, Eitan Rotman and Elad Agmon each won silver. The five Israelis competed among 437 students from 95 countries in laboratory and theory exams covering thermodynamics, optics, particle physics and nuclear physics. The team trained at Ben-Gurion University’s Housidman Center through the Education Ministry and Future Scientists Center program.
