Gush Katif Memorial Grove Opens in Kissufim Forest

KKL-JNF inaugurated the Gush Katif Memorial Grove in Kissufim Forest on Wednesday after an investment of about NIS 5.5 million. The site, initiated with the Gush Katif Residents Committee and Gush Katif Heritage Center, includes an approximately 18-meter observation tower overlooking the Gaza area and the former communities, a gathering plaza, circular walking trail, seating areas and heritage signs. Work on the second phase stopped after the Swords of Iron War began because of the border security situation. Construction resumed about six months ago with IDF approval and included repairs to war damage.
