High Court Cancels Yehuda Eliyahu’s Israel Land Authority Appointment

The High Court on Wednesday canceled Yehuda Eliyahu’s appointment as director of the Israel Land Authority, ending his current term on July 22. The ruling also voided the search committee’s recommendation and returned the selection process for renewed review. Two of the committee’s five members will be replaced, and the reconstituted panel will interview the three highest-ranked candidates from the previous process under equal conditions. The court said the cancellation does not automatically bar Eliyahu from serving temporarily, but any acting appointment would require a separate decision under civil-service law.
