IDF Eliminates Hamas Terrorist Involved in Abducting Colonel Asaf Hamami

The IDF said Wednesday it killed Hussam Shafai, a Hamas military-wing terrorist in the East Khan Younis Battalion, in a strike in southern Gaza on Tuesday. Shafai raided Kibbutz Nirim during the October 7 massacre and took part in abducting Col. Asaf Hamami, Staff Sgt. Tomer Ahimas and Sgt. Kiril Brodsky, who fell defending the kibbutz. The strike was directed by the Gaza Division's fire center after intelligence collection. The military said Shafai had continued advancing terrorist plots and posed a threat to Israeli troops operating in Gaza.
