Body Found Tied to Stretcher in Southern Lebanon Minefield

Defense Ministry contractors working for the IDF found a man's body tied to a stretcher inside a minefield near Rab al-Thalathine in southern Lebanon on Thursday. Combat Engineering troops extracted the body, which was transferred to Israel and police for identification and examination of the circumstances of death. Initial security assessments said the man was not Israeli and may have been a Hezbollah operative or another Lebanese national, but his identity remained unconfirmed. Authorities were also examining how the body reached the minefield and whether the death involved criminal activity.
