House Rejects Bid to Cut $3.3 Billion in Israel Aid, 314-104

The U.S. House rejected Representative Thomas Massie's amendment to bar $3.3 billion in aid to Israel, voting 314-104, with 10 members present. The measure would have blocked all Israel funding in the State Department spending bill, including military and nonmilitary programs. Massie was the only Republican supporting it; 103 Democrats backed the cutoff, while 98 Democrats and 215 Republicans opposed it. The broader appropriations bill later passed, preserving the aid as Democrats split over Israel and party leaders took opposing positions.
