Pakistan Says Iran-U.S. Mediation Remains Active Amid Renewed Fighting

Pakistan's Foreign Office said Islamabad has not withdrawn from efforts to bring the United States and Iran back to negotiations as renewed fighting intensifies around the Strait of Hormuz. Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the Islamabad memorandum remains an enduring framework and urged both sides to end violence and resume technical-level talks. He said mediation faces severe challenges but remains viable, while Pakistan continues high-level contacts with regional leaders. The diplomatic push comes as U.S. strikes on Iran and Iranian attacks on Gulf states have collapsed last month's interim ceasefire and disrupted maritime trade.
