Actress and Singer Shoshik Shani Dies at 91

Veteran Israeli actress and singer Shoshik Shani died Saturday at age 91. Born Shoshana Sprung in Tel Aviv, she began performing as a child and studied acting at the Cameri Theatre school founded by Yosef and Yemima Millo. Her career stretched from the 1950s across stage, film and television, including the musical "Utz Li Gutz Li" and films such as "Hole in the Moon" and "Operation Jonathan." Shani, the widow of singer and actor Arik Lavie, is survived by their daughters Noa and Yael Lavie and by grandchildren.
