Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli called for Haredi young men to serve in the IDF, saying legislation should set high enlistment targets and economic sanctions. He said the military must create gender-separated frameworks so yeshiva students can serve while maintaining their religious commitments. Chikli rejected criticism of Basic Law: Torah Study and said further judicial reform was needed to restore decision-making authority to elected institutions. He also warned that Iran could attack Israel as U.S.-Iran fighting intensifies, saying Tehran understands Israel's response would differ from that of other regional states.
