Israel's Job-Seeker Count Falls to 169,000 After Wartime Peak

Israel's registered job-seeker count fell to about 169,000 at the end of June, down roughly 6% from May and 57%, or about 227,000 people, from the wartime peak of about 396,000. The Employment Service said the count nevertheless remained 8% above June 2023, before the current war. Job seekers under 35 recorded the fastest monthly decline at about 10%, compared with 6% among ages 35 to 54 and 3% among those 55 and older. Haredi job seekers fell 6.5%, while the share from the highest socioeconomic clusters rose to 20.6%, 3.4 percentage points above June 2023.
