Teachers Moving North Offered NIS 60,000 Grants for Border-Area Schools

The Education and Finance ministries and the Tnufa administration announced a NIS 60,000 grant for new teachers who relocate and work in schools within nine kilometers of the Lebanon border during the 2026-27 school year. Eligible teachers must live within 30 kilometers of the border, with priority given to mathematics, English, computing, physics, chemistry, technology, kindergarten and counseling roles. Approved educators who lead local initiatives can receive NIS 1,000 monthly. The one-year rollout is part of a four-year northern recovery program and also includes academic retraining and leadership tracks.
