Sodom recorded 43.3°C after inland temperatures climbed by 3 to 4 degrees over the weekend, while Jerusalem and the hills reached about 33°C and the Shephelah about 35°C. The national forecast says temperatures will rise another 1 to 2 degrees Sunday, bringing hotter-than-seasonal to sharav conditions in the hills and inland areas, high humidity along the coast and heavier heat loads across most of Israel. Similar conditions are expected Monday. A modest easing is forecast Tuesday before temperatures and heat loads rise again Wednesday and Thursday, with limited relief expected Friday.
