Red Heat Warnings Cover Seven Israeli Regions Through Wednesday Evening
The Israel Meteorological Service placed seven eastern regions under red heat-stress warnings for Wednesday as temperatures and heat loads rise. Extreme conditions are forecast from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Beit Shean, Kinneret and Jordan valleys, the northern and southern Judean Desert and Dead Sea areas, and the northern Arava; the Hula Valley warning runs from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday is forecast to be the hottest day of the week, with very heavy to extreme heat loads. Temperatures should fall toward seasonal norms Friday, bringing relief that continues through Saturday.
