Thousands of participants gathered near Zikim after the Nachala movement said it reached an agreement with the IDF to change the route of its Gaza-border march. Organizers said the event would end at an overlook facing the former community of Elei Sinai and the northern Gaza perimeter, with calls to rebuild Nisanit, Dugit and Elei Sinai. Police approved the rally at the Zikim beach access road and set up barriers, including at Nir Am, to prevent civilians from entering Gaza. Ministers, Knesset members, bereaved families, wounded veterans and southern residents joined the event.
