Balcony Collapse at Jerusalem Bakery Kills Man, 80
An 80-year-old man died after rescuers pulled him from rubble following a balcony collapse onto a bakery in a three-story building in Jerusalem's Rehavia neighborhood. Magen David Adom said its 101 dispatch center received the report at 5:25 p.m. from Keren Kayemet LeIsrael Street, where the man was found unconscious and trapped. His 80-year-old wife and two boys, aged 17 and 16, were lightly injured and taken to a hospital. Police closed the street while firefighters, medical teams, municipal engineers and Home Front Command personnel searched the heavily damaged building for additional trapped people.
