Girl, 8, Seriously Wounded in Deir Hanna Shooting

An eight-year-old girl was seriously wounded Monday evening in a shooting in Deir Hanna in the Lower Galilee. Magen David Adom medics said she was conscious with significant penetrating wounds when she was brought to a local clinic, and they evacuated her by intensive-care ambulance to the Northern Medical Center in Poriya in serious but stable condition. Medics Iyad Suleiman and Ali Shahada said they provided initial treatment before the transfer. Police launched searches for suspects and opened an investigation, saying the shooting was apparently criminal and the circumstances remained under examination.
