Sheba Expansion Plan Advances Toward 3,303 Beds by 2045

Israel's National Infrastructure Planning Committee advanced Sheba Medical Center's 2045 development plan for public review on Monday. The proposal would raise capacity at the country's largest hospital from 1,860 to 3,303 beds and expand space for treatment, research and teaching. It also includes two additional rooftop helipads, a regulated ground landing site, parks, solar panels, and a pedestrian link between future metro and light rail stations. Planners say removing perimeter fencing and connecting the campus to surrounding Ramat Gan neighborhoods would turn the medical center into an open urban health district.
