UK Antisemitism Campaign Urges Burnham to Confront Extremism

Campaign Against Antisemitism urged newly appointed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham to make combating antisemitism a central mission of his government. Chief executive Gideon Falter said British Jews face daily abuse and discrimination, while synagogues and schools require £250 million in police protection. His open letter said security barriers and policing are precautions rather than a solution, and called for authorities to confront Islamist, far-left and far-right extremism. The group offered Burnham a detailed plan and said the future of Jewish life in Britain would depend on real, robust government action.
