Syrian customs said officers at the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing seized 226 RGC grenade rounds concealed inside a private car bound for Lebanon. The General Authority for Land and Sea Ports said staff became suspicious of the vehicle and found the cache during a search assisted by a K9 unit. Authorities also recovered additional ammunition, detained the driver and transferred the seized weapons to the competent agencies for investigation. The authority said it would continue operations against smuggling and threats to state security.
