Gaza Food Security Improves but Remains Fragile, UN Agencies Say

New UN analysis found food security and child nutrition improved across Gaza after humanitarian assistance and commercial traffic expanded under the October 2025 ceasefire. An estimated 1.4 million people, 67% of the population, remain in crisis or worse acute food insecurity, down from 1.6 million at the end of 2025; 212,000 remain in emergency conditions. In May, food parcels reached about 1.5 million people, cash aid about 700,000, and nutrition support 60% of children under five. The agencies said gains remain fragile because only the Kerem Shalom crossing is open and recovery still depends on sustained access, funding and local production.
