Maccabi Tel Aviv Crushes Sheriff 5-0 in Europa League Qualifier

Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Sheriff Tiraspol 5-0 in Moldova in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League second qualifying-round tie. Saied Abu Farchi scored twice, opening in the fifth minute and converting a penalty in the 74th. Dor Peretz, Sagiv Jehezkel and Issouf Sissokho added the other goals as Maccabi built a commanding advantage before the July 30 return leg in Batumi, Georgia. Midfielder Kristijan Belic, returning from injury, was forced off shortly after entering as a substitute.
