Border Police Shoot Suspect After He Fails to Stop at Shuafat Checkpoint

Border Police officers shot a suspect in the leg during an arrest procedure at the Shuafat checkpoint in the Jerusalem area late Thursday. The Israel Police spokesperson said officers stationed at the crossing noticed the man behaving suspiciously as he approached. They ordered him to stop, but he did not comply with their instructions. Officers then initiated the standard procedure for arresting a suspect, during which the man was wounded in the leg. Police and all three reports said no members of the security forces were injured in the incident.
