Havat Gilad Victim Identified as Benayahu Mellet, 32

Benayahu Mellet, 32, a Havat Gilad resident and member of its civilian defense team, was identified Friday as the Israeli killed in the shooting near the Samaria village of Tell. Reports said he went to assist Israeli hikers after Palestinians attacked them near a mosque. A Palestinian seized a security coordinator's rifle and opened fire, killing Mellet and wounding two other Israelis; the IDF said troops immediately killed the attacker and recovered the weapon. One wounded man was in critical condition and the other in serious condition at Ichilov Hospital, and Mellet's funeral was scheduled for Friday at Havat Gilad.
