The IDF deployed five additional companies to Judea and Samaria on Friday after the deadly shooting near the village of Tell, expanding forces assigned to the area. Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered broad reinforcements to strengthen defense and capture everyone involved. The military said Palestinian attackers seized a security coordinator's rifle and fired at Israeli civilians, killing Benayahu Mellet and wounding others before troops killed the gunman and recovered the weapon. The IDF also imposed closures on Tell and Nablus and continued operations in Beit Furik and Tubas after attacks there Thursday.
