Zehava Shaul, Mother of Fallen Soldier Oron Shaul, Dies

Zehava Shaul, mother of fallen Golani soldier Staff Sgt. Oron Shaul, died Friday, the Jordan Valley Regional Council announced. A resident of Poria Illit, she spent more than a decade campaigning to bring her son home for burial after Hamas terrorists seized his body during Operation Protective Edge in 2014. Israeli forces recovered Oron's body from Gaza in January 2025, and he was buried in Poria Illit. The council said Zehava would be laid to rest beside her husband Herzl and her son, and expressed condolences to her sons Ofek and Aviram.
