IRGC Says Warning Shots Forced Four Ships to Alter Course in Hormuz

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said its navy fired warning shots at four vessels attempting to use the southern route through the Strait of Hormuz during the previous 24 hours. The force described the passage as illegal and unsafe and said all four ships altered course after the warning fire. The vessels, flags, destinations and cargoes were not identified, and no response from their operators or foreign governments was immediately reported. The incident comes as Tehran tries to push commercial shipping away from the Omani coastal corridor and into Iranian-controlled waters during the continuing U.S.-Iran conflict.
