Central Gaza Security Chief Killed in Israeli Strike, Hamas Says

Hamas's Interior Ministry said an Israeli airstrike killed Col. Wael Mousa al-Ladawi, head of the Internal Security Service in central Gaza, and Maj. Ramez Tawfiq Abu Zureiq. The ministry said their vehicle was struck in Deir al-Balah on Sunday. The statement identified al-Ladawi as the central governorate's internal-security chief and Abu Zureiq as a major, and announced the deaths at 12:25 p.m. Israel time. It said both men were traveling in the vehicle when it was hit. The IDF had not immediately issued its own account of the operation.
